Okayyyy, things about me.
1. I read the most obscure things, and listen to music that you've probably never heard of. Mainstream things make me kind of sick. I love Virginia Woolf, and Sylvia Plath, and I listen to The Raincoats, and Bikini Kill.
2. With that being said, I don't think I'm in anyway better than anyone. I hate people who grow a niche off of the phrase "every band you've ever heard of, I've probably heard of them a year before you." Why does it matter, and who cares? To each his own. No one's better than anyone. We're all unique in our own way.
3. I basically have no friends. I COULD have friends, but I guess it just seems I can't hold a friend for very long. We start to split apart because I'm too different. I've lost friends because they couldn't handle the cynical, "i don't believe in love", i believe you should know what's going on in the world, and you should pay attention to something other than the clothes you wear, me. My best friend at the moment is a guy that everyone is convinced is "gay". That is not a complaint. He's amazing. He's basically my soul mate. Not in a romantic way, but in the platonic, we get eachother, way.
4. I have a super weird style. If you ask me to label myself, I won't do it. Besides the fact that I think labels are ridiculous, I don't want to be lumped in a group that doesn't fit me because of the way I look. The way people look, 99 percent of the time, sadly have nothing to do with who they are inside. Which is where I guess I differ. I dress as an amplification of who I am inside. I'm not "scene", I'm not "goth", I'm not "emo". I wear slacks, I wear skinny jeans, I wear tutus, leggings, combat boots, plaid, zebra print, and so on. I wouldn't just stick me in one group.
5. I love photography. It's my passion, and it's what I want to do as my career. But I'm also a passionate writer. I have notebooks and notebooks filled with things I've written. I write poetry, and prose about my life. And I'm also a passionate gymnast. Being able to do the things I do as a gymnast make me feel more free than EVER, and I LOVE it.
6. I'm different. And I don't just say that just to make you think I'm different. Have you ever seen the movie, Ten Things I Hate About You? I'm 100 percent Kat.
7. I LOVE my school. I go to an alternative school. People usually think that my school is for the mentally handi-capped, but in reality, my school is for teenagers who want a REAL challenge. We have internships. We take our education into our own hands, and decide what we want to learn. But we have to PROVE ourselves, and we get judged in front of a panel at least three times a year. It's HARD WORK, but I'm about to become a sophomore (I PASSED FRESHMAN YEAR!), and I have never worked harder at school in my life. I've never so thoroughly enjoyed school more in my life. It makes passing grades SO much more meaningful.
8. I've been hurt a lot in my life. But I chose to never walk out of any of those instances as a "victim". But I do find myself being unable to trust people, and I drift away from people without any intention of doing so. It's just me now. I have walls.
TAG, you're it:
